Thank you πŸ’—

Thank you! Yes you! Thank you to all who have placed orders with me these past few weeks! Thank you for your sweet comments, likes, shop favorites and reviews!

I started trying to sell my quilts a few months ago with the intention of giving others a chance to buy a unique, handmade piece that their baby, son, daughter, granddaughter, friend, etc. could use and enjoy for years to come. I was also asked constantly if I sold my quilts so this gives me an easy answer, yes!

I LOVE to sew, quilt, find fabric, look at new fabric, drool over fabric, create perfect fabric combinations for projects, etc. Basically I love fabric and making things with my hands, and my sewing machine of course πŸ’— My sweet daughter LOVES to help me sew, she even comes home from daycare asking if we can sew together πŸ’— That’s my why! And you guys buying the things we make just makes it even better. I can’t physically keep all that I want to sew and quilt, my house would be full of quilts in a year if that happened! So keep sending me new requests, ideas, etc. I’m happy to tell you what a quilt might cost or what new burp cloth prints I’ve found recently ☺️

Thank you to my family members for encouraging me, placing orders, telling your friends about my quilts and giving me new ideas and inspiration. I love making things that you can give as cute and meaningful gifts that took time and thought. Thank you to my sweet friends A and K for asking for auction quilts! They were a huge hit and I so enjoyed doing them!

If you need a special gift for a sweet baby, a friend or just something for yourself send me a message on Facebook or use my ETSY shop The Quilted Lamb Studio πŸ’— For now I will keep sewing and quilting and teaching my sweet little girl how to sew! Thank you for all the love! πŸ’—

Thank you for reading and as always Happy Quilting!

Woodland Baby Quilt

Finished and shipped a cute custom Woodland baby quilt this week!

A friend asked if I could make something similar to a quilt she found online at a big box store and I said sure! I searched for fabrics at Gina’s Bernina and decided on 6 inch squares and a simple border. Most of the fabrics are from Art Gallery Fabrics and the back is from Cotton and Steel . It came together nicely and now my husband wants one similar, but of course a bit bigger ☺️

I Quilted it in a simple “stitch the ditch” pattern and then went through each square to make an X. It turned out great and I’m glad it will be well loved!

Neverland Wholecloth Throw

I had a request recently for a wholecloth throw in the beautiful line of Neverland fabrics from Riley Blake Designs. She decided on the Neverland Island Periwinkle because she loves mermaids! This print is so cute with pirate ships, mermaids and other details RBD is famous for 😍

She also wanted a minky back and I found the perfect mermaid print from Michael Miller Fabrics at Gina’s Bernina (they have a great selection of these!)

I sandwiched the two layers and spray basted to make sure it stayed together while I Quilted them 😍 I’ve heard nightmares about sewing with minky but I found it to be quite simple thanks to my machines dual-feed feature. Love my Bernina 770 QE! πŸ’—

This quilt was so fun to make! If you have ideas for a quilt or are just curious feel free to shoot me a message on here, Facebook or Instagram (@thequiltedlambstudio) ☺️ Km always Happy to chat about quilts!

I know this quilt will be loved for many years to come! It’s so soft and cuddly!

Thank you for reading my blog and as always Happy Quilting!

Flora and Fawn Crib Quilt

This one was delivered to its person today, halfway to the final destination of a new baby’s nursery πŸ’—

No pattern to speak of, I just made this up on my own and I’m very pleased with the outcome! She wanted a woodland baby girl theme so I chose a Flora and Fawn Layer Cake to start with. From there I chose the borders and backing from Gina’s Bernina and I love the ones they helped me choose! These ladies are experts at helping you find just the right fabrics ! I chose a simple quilting design of wavy lines on my Bernina 770 QE so the quilt would stay nice and fluffy for baby 🍼

I pulled it out of the dryer and was in awe of the fluffiness! It is so soft and cuddly, pictures just don’t do it justice but I tried!

img_2193.jpgMy favorite part of this quilt is the small one inch border surrounding the main blocks. I don’t know why but I just love this fabric and how I ended up quilting it ☺️

Quilting Away πŸ’—

Hello again! I’ve been busy busy lately wrapping up another semester and quilting away with my sweet little girl 😍

I’ve had several requests for custom projects lately and these couldn’t make me happier! I know not everything I pick out is perfect for that special loved one in your life so I’m happy to entertain requests for custom quilts!

I’ve got 4 quilts in line to be Quilted right now and several to bind. I love having multiple projects on my plate at once and I never get bored working on one thing. My Bernina 770QE switches seamlessly from quilting to sewing and it allows me freedom to work on anything I choose πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ I’ve recently been embroidering too but that’s another post!

Here are a few projects I’m working on now and I’ve got several still in the planning stages πŸ˜‰

Now on to binding more quilts for my ETSY shop and finishing up these lovely gifts for their new homes!

Happy Quilting! And as always thank you for reading!

New Quilts and Class Time!

I apologize for not posting for a while! April has started off busier than I had imagined, but I wanted to share a few new quilts I’ve been working on!

I constantly find new fabric for whole cloth quilts at my local quilt shop Gina’s Bernina. The ladies in there know me so well in fact that they often show me new fabrics on my frequent visits and say they thought I would like them! And I end up loving every one!

Recently I’m obsessed with the Neverland Collection by Riley Blake Designs!

I even went online and found several more color ways and keep thinking of new things to do with them πŸ™‚

Aren’t these just darling? They’re so cute I just can’t bear to cut them up, hence why I made a wholecloth quilt from the Periwinkle fabric and added the starry sky fabric to the back. It will be listed in my ETSY shop soon along with the darling little critters below. They are from Art Gallery Fabrics Indigo and Aster Collection and are so cute! The mixture of animals is just perfect!

Both of these are ready for binding and almost ready to list in my ETSY shop. I’ve sold one of the Indigo and Aster quilts already and decided someone else needed one too!

In addition to being busy sewing and quilting I’ve been working on business cards and setting up an email address for my little hobby. You can email me now at thequiltedlambstudio@gmail.com ! I’ve also got some secret sewing going on for gifts that people have ordered. I can’t wait to share them but for now I’m keeping them under wraps so the quilts stay a surprise!

I’m finally taking my Bernina Embroidery Master Class tomorrow (part 1 of a two class series) and I can’t wait! I haven’t even opened the embroidery module on my machine yet and I’m praying our instructor tomorrow can help me, lol! I’m fairly certain this will be as addictive as sewing already is and everything my sweet daughter owns will be embroidered with her initials!! I’ll update everyone on my progress but for now I’m going to get back to my quilts!

Thank you for reading and as always Happy Quilting!

New Baby Quilts πŸ’—

I’ve just finished several new wholecloth quilts 😍 They will be listed on my ETSY shop soon!

ETSY: The Quilted Lamb Studio

I just love this Art Gallery Fabric, Indigo and Aster Collection print ☺️ I couldn’t bear to cut it up!

Here are a few pictures of the animals that are on the top and bottom.

The print in the middle is gorgeous and reminds me of lined paper we used to write on in Kindergarten!

I just finished machine sewing the binding this morning and will list it in my ETSY shop soon πŸ’— I did simple straight line quilting in a cream color to not take away from the beautiful fabric. Then I chose a gray binding with little sprinkles on it and a hot pink backing!

All fabrics were purchased from Gina’s Bernina 😍 The ladies there are super helpful and are awesome at picking out fabrics and giving great advice!

Thank you for reading and as always Happy Quilting!

Wholecloth Baby Quilts πŸ’—

I don’t know about you but when I was a child there was nothing more comforting than my mom’s old quilts she kept in a closet in her bedroom. My twin sister and I would dig them out often and make forts out of them in the living room much to our parents dismay πŸ˜‚ I loved how the quilts were always soft and inviting and full of bright colors!

I saw wholecloth baby quilts on ETSY a year or so ago, and though to myself “I could totally do that! Even the quilting!” To me a wholecloth quilt was simple, yet brilliant! Think about it….who wants to cut up gorgeous pieces of fabric?? I always have a hard time cutting fabric into small pieces knowing that I won’t see the whole piece of fabric again. Unless I go to the quilt shop of course….but we know where that leads πŸ˜‚ More fabric! Alas, I digress….So there came my idea for simple, wholecloth quilts for people to use as baby gifts. Gifts that will last and last even with multiple washes! And maybe someday a sweet baby will grow up and continue using one of my quilts for comfort, security and warmth.

Anywho, I thought about this idea of wholecloth quilts for many months before actually opening an ETSY shop that I named “The Quilted Lamb Studio”. Check it out here ETSY Shop-The Quilted Lamb Studio.

Obviously you all know I’m a mother to a sweet baby girl, a farm wife (my husband and I raise purebred Southdown sheep, hence The Quilted Lamb….πŸ’—), and I teach at our state’s land grant Univeristy as a Senior Lecturer (GO BIG 🍊). I’m busy! So I don’t have a whole lot of quilts on my ETSY shop yet but that’s ok by me 😍 I have gifted several quilts in the last year, I have several quilts in the works for different people and I like to make wall hangings as well, along with sleeping 😴 some each night! I feel like I accomplish a lot most of the time 🧐

But before you go check out my ETSY Shop check out the next whole cloth quilt I just finished and need to add binding to!

It’s called “Once Upon a Rhyme” by Riley Blake Designs 😍 Once I fall in love with a fabric I have to use it for something and obviously I couldn’t cut this beauty up! It will be listed on my ETSY shop (Click Here) once finished !

Thank you for reading! And as always Happy Quilting!
